PARSIFALS II

A documentary theater installation concluding the second phase of collaboration between Apolena Vanišová and clients of one of twenty-six Czech institutions for institutional education, i.e., juvenile detention centers. The original group of five boys chose the legend of Parsifal as the theme for their joint work. Although this was probably a rather random choice at first, over time it turned out to be a very fitting theme for them, representing their search for meaning and their journey through life. The composition of the group changes over time, with some leaving when they come of age and others arriving in trouble, but they continue the story together. Together, they map the environment in which they live and speak openly about their expectations of life after release.
